I don’t recommend it, and I wouldn’t judge if you do this, but occasionally, Ian and I take the kids out of school to do family things. Whether it’s to watch their very first Avengers movie, go to a concert in a different city, or just to hang out with them and enjoy their company without being disrupted with busy extracurricular or weekend activities. Last Thursday, we took them to Okatoks to go pumpking picking. I was a little disappointed because their pumpkin patch wasn’t available for picking due to frost damage, but nonetheless, we had a lot of fun.
Event though frost hit early and damaged the pumpkin vines, there was still a great selection of amazing pumpkins to choose from. There weren’t any mini ghost pumpkins though.
There was a couple jumping balloons in the park that occupied most of the kids time. There were pipe air guns that you could put plastic air balls into and try to hit people as they were jumping around. I’m sure they would have jumped on that thing for a few more hours but the park was gonna close.
The farm is separated out in sections. It includes a corn maze, the pumpkin patch, an area where the farm animals are kept and the play area for the kids, a school receiving area and a closed off area for tiny tots. The farm animals that the kids had the chance to visit and pet included pigs, horses, giant bunnies, goats and chickens. No, they didn’t pet the chickens.
This photo was attempted pultiple times. someone got too excited to slide down…
